Legends Artists is the result of the need for Hot Springs' music to be
heard outside the confines of the spa city and for the desire to bring new
music within its borders.
Kindled by a
love of music and a desire to promote the local music scene, owners
Sherree and David Hughes poured the foundation for ULA in late 2004. In
January, 2005, ULA went on-line with two artists and has not looked back.
So, what is
it that we do?
Our primary
goal at ULA is to promote the musician and the music. There are too many
great artists out there that need to be heard. We do our best to book our
artists in Hot Springs, in other Arkansas venues and throughout the
region.
In addition
to booking our artists, we also assist Hot Springs venues in securing
talent for their events. Whether it's a night club, wedding, backyard BBQ,
church, corporate event, festival or other activity, ULA has the resources
to bring you the music you want.
Of course,
you know we can't do this for free, no matter how much we love the music.
We have to be able to cover the overhead involved with travel, telephone
bills and so on. ULA charges a modest 15% per gig to do booking. Whether
it's one event or 100, our charge is the same. This cost secures the venue
or the artist and assists in covering any promotion that may be required.
If you are
an artist and would like for ULA to consider working with you here what
needs to happen:
1. Send
us a promotional kit. The promo kit should include a CD(s), picture of
the artist, bio, set list, equipment requirements, and references
(venues played).
2. Once
we review the promo, we will decide if we can help you. If so, we will
get in touch and find out where you are playing so we can hear you
perform.
3. If we
like what we see and hear at your performance we will schedule a time
to meet with you to discuss booking.
In the
event that we do not actively perform booking duties for you, we keep
your promotional information on file in case something comes up in the
future.
Promotion
of any gig (newspaper, radio, posters, etc.) is the responsibility of
the artist.
