Kathy Ball

Kathy Ball’s deep, sultry vocals have fronted a number of country and rock bands since 1974.

Ball started her music career at around the age of 9 when she took the stage with her father’s bluegrass band. In 1974, she made her professional debut in Bossier City, Louisiana. Around 1981, Ball moved to Houston, singing and playing at Moe & Joe’s Honky Tonk.

During her career she has opened for notable artists such as Janie Fricke, Ricky Skaggs, The Flying Burrito Brothers and Charlie Daniels. In addition, Ball has provided the back up vocals for Percy Sledge, sang with David Frizzell and performed with Ernest Tubb and his Texas Playboys.

Moving to Hot Springs in 1982, Ball fronted a number of local bands including Hired Hands, Thunder Rose and 3 Wheel Drive. Most recently she has performed acoustically with Levon Walkin in the duo Walkin the Ball. Ball and Walkin share time on the CD, Walkin the Ball.

Ball also has a CD to her credit, Live at the Shack.
