Pierson-Waters Project
The Pierson -Waters Project is a collaborative effort spawned by the chance meeting of Dayton Waters, and Grant Pierson several years ago in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The two guitar players had heard about one another but had never managed to find the time to listen to the other one play. When the chance finally came, they took advantage of it. To quote Waters, "Things just ain’t been the same since." After playing duo gigs for a few years, Waters and Pierson decided they wanted to put together this "project".PWP is an energy packed duo that can fly acoustically or can plug in and do a high powered electric show. Grant Pierson is the old hand of the duo, singing and playing lead and rhythm guitar. Pierson spent a number of years touring with the national act, Grayghost. In addition to being an outstanding musician, Pierson is also an accomplished song writer. Teaming up with Pierson on the vocals is Waters, a proven solo act himself. Waters, a former Army Ranger, brings his own intensity to the show and combines it with Pierson's style to pull off what amounts to having an act with two lead singers and zero ego. Waters pulls off lead and rhythm with his signature twelve-string guitar and unique style throughout the show. PWP recently released its long awaited self-titled CD. The music contains original pieces by Pierson and Waters and has been shopped around to a couple of major record labels. While the CD is outstanding in terms of musicianship and writing, it cannot replace the ways these guys sound live. PWP is a testament to road-tested, time sharpened, live music.
